Visit the Zoo

One of the most family-friendly (and family-fun!) days out involves a trip to the zoo.  With a bevy of fiece, friendly, and furrry animals on view to admire, everyone is sure to have a fantastic time learning and looking at the zoo!

ZSL London Zoo

The ZSL London Zoo, located in Regent’s Park, is a terrific way to spend a day in London. There are loads of activities to suit all ages, from being a zookeeper for a day, to exploring the zoo after-hours on a Zoo Lates Friday night, and actually meeting some of the animals. But if you fancy a more traditional experience, simply walking through the many habitats at the zoo and admiring the animals (we’re especially excited about the sumatrian tiger cubs!) will give you your fill of fantastic wildlife!

There are a number of ways to get to the ZSL London Zoo! If you’re arriving by train, the nearest mainline station is Euston Station.  Once at Euston, you simply need to hop on the 253 bus (at bus stop G) traevelling towards Narroway/Hackney Central to Camden High Street. Then, at Camden High Street, take the bus number 274 at bus stop T towards Victoria Gate to ZSL London Zoo.

If you’re taking the Underground, the closest station is Camden High Street.  From there, enjoy a stroll or take the 274 bus at bus stop T to get to the zoo’s entrance!

Bristol Zoo Gardens

If London’s a bit of a hike for you, perhaps a day at the Bristol Zoo Gardens in Clifton, Bristol would suit you better!  Their 12 acres of zoo gardens gives visitors ample space to stretch their legs and see animals that range from lions to gorillas and seals (oh my!). Zookeeper days, animal meet-and-greets, and educational talks are all available should you desire to take your trip to the zoo to a whole new level of fun!

Getting to the Bristol Zoo Gardens is easy, too! Clifton Down Station is just a ten-minute walk to the Zoo but if you arrive at Bristol Temple Meads Station, simply take the 8 or 9 bus service directly to the Zoo’s main entrance.

Whatever zoo you choose, a wild and wonderful experience awaits! If you’re travelling to the zoo by train, remember to book your tickets in advance using our Best Fare Finderand that children under 5 travel free!
