Buy Advance tickets

Plane tickets in the UK are almost always booked in advance to secure the best seats at the lowest prices, but many people buy train tickets on the day of travel - which is the most expensive way to do it. Why not get into the habit of booking train tickets in advance too?

If you buy your train tickets online with MyTrainTicket, you'll often be presented with 'Advance' ticket prices as well as Off-Peak or Anytime. Advance tickets are low-cost tickets that are made available by many train operators up to 12 weeks ahead of travel. They're not available on every route and can sell out quickly - but all you need to do is decide when you want to travel, and book your tickets as soon as you can.
